IBA Regional Meetings

The Indiana Bankers Association implemented a series of regional meetings several years ago in an effort to facilitate grassroots communication between the bankers we serve and the legislators who serve our state. Over the years, the meetings have grown in popularity, and many banker-legislator connections have been fostered as a result. We are pleased to present our 2017 round of IBA regional meetings in the cities of Indianapolis, Merrillville, Evansville, Fort Wayne, Richmond, Bloomington, Lafayette and Jeffersonville.

The meetings will be held during the months of June and July. Meetings will include an IBA and legislative update beginning at 11 a.m. (local time) preceding the legislative luncheon. This session, which is reserved for bankers, will cover a broad range of topics and is a prime opportunity for you to stay abreast of what your Association is doing for you and your bank.

Legislators are being asked to join us for lunch at noon (local time), following the IBA and legislative update. As in years past, our intended purpose of the legislator lunch is to provide you with an opportunity to network with local elected officials. Each regional meeting offers an ideal forum to start a new relationship with your legislator, or build upon an existing relationship, and talk about issues that are important to our industry. We invite you to attend this lunch with questions about specific legislation, comments about pending issues or simply casual conversation.

The success of these meetings depends on solid banker attendance. If you personally cannot attend, please consider sending representatives from your bank. Additionally, please remember that attendance by you or one of your employees will count toward your bank’s grassroots portion of the Five Star Member goal.
