The IBA is once again hosting a series of regional meetings around the state to facilitate grassroots communication between the bankers we serve and the legislators who serve our state. The meetings will include an hour-long update on the IBA, including legislative information and advocacy opportunities. Following the update, local legislators from the Indiana General Assembly will meet for lunch with bankers from the community.
Each meeting will include an IBA and legislative update beginning at 11 a.m. (local time), preceding the legislative luncheon. This update, which is reserved for bankers, will cover a broad range of topics and is a prime opportunity for you to stay abreast of what your Association is doing for you and your bank.
Legislators are being asked to join us for lunch at noon (local time), following the IBA and legislative update. As in years past, our intended purpose of the legislator lunch is to provide you with an opportunity to network with local elected officials. Each regional meeting offers an ideal forum to start a new relationship with your legislator, or build upon an existing relationship, and talk about issues that are important to our industry. Although the IBA invites each legislator to attend, we encourage you to also personally reach out to your legislators and invite them to attend. Each regional meeting offers an ideal forum to start a new relationship with your legislator, or build upon an existing relationship, while talking about issues that are important to our industry.
The success of these meetings depends on solid banker attendance. If you personally cannot attend, please consider sending representatives from your bank. Additionally, please remember that attendance by you or one of your employees will count toward your bank’s grassroots portion of the Five Star Member goal.
