Emerging Leaders - A Digital Program
Begins June 18
The Emerging Leaders Digital Program is designed for key staff in the bank who are emerging as potential leaders. It is designed to deliver essential management skills from accomplished leaders that will enable the emerging leader to more rapidly develop. Participants will engage in 1½ hour video conference calls covering specific management topics once a month for 6 months. If you are unable to attend the scheduled video conference in a given month, a recording of the session will be made available to you.

Homework assignments taking approximately 1 hour to complete will be assigned following each session. Participants will share a 1-2 minute report at the beginning of each meeting detailing how they have applied the takeaways from the prior meeting to their day-to-day activities in the bank. Participants will gain experience with management/leadership competencies without ever being out-of-office. At the conclusion of the program, participants will have leadership plans in place preparing them to take the next leadership steps at their banks.

We know that customer service and sales representatives are responsible for building relationships with customers. But, let’s not stop there. When an entire organization benefits from relationship development, we need to find effective ways to engage the entire organization in relationship development. Everyone plays an important role in that process, so take the time to discover and identify how each job position at your bank will contribute to successful relationship development. This session examines how banks can direct their culture and business practices directly at customers and their long-term loyalty.

Reward and Recognition Strategies

Recognition and appreciation is a fundamental need of humans. Most employees respond to recognition of their good work because it reinforces that they are valuable and the work that they do is valued. Banks today need to get creative in recognizing and rewarding their employees. Fewer and fewer employees are making a career at one employer so leaders need to find ways to reward and recognize contributions, hard work and productivity. Most people, including leaders acknowledge not receiving or providing much positive feedback if any at all. It’s hard to retain good people if we don’t recognize the value in which others bring to the organization.

FLD Networking Reception at Mega Conference
May 7
Mark your calendars for the FLD's Mega Networking Reception on May 7. This reception, sponsored by Krieg DeVault LLP, will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. EDT at Yard House in downtown Indianapolis. This event is open to all FLD members as well as Mega Conference attendees who are interested in learning more about Future Leadership Division membership and its networking opportunities. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet and establish new relationships with the FLD Advisory Board, FLD members and other bankers interested in growing as banking professionals in the state of Indiana. There is no charge to attend. Please RSVP for this event by contacting Josh Myers by May 2.
